The conclusion of the latest PokerGO Tour (PGT) series, PGT Mixed Games 2024, marked a showcase of skill and triumph from poker pros, with Alex Livingston claiming his maiden PGT title. Running from February 28 to March 8, the series featured a diverse range of mixed game events with buy-ins spanning from $5,100 to $25,300.

While the winner’s podium eluded him, Daniel Negreanu emerged as the star of the high-stakes mixed game series, securing an impressive four final table appearances. Notable among his feats was a runner-up finish in the $10,200 Dealer’s Choice event, where he pocketed $103,400, alongside a third-place finish in the $10,200 Big Bet Mix event, adding $55,000 to his earnings.

Negreanu’s stellar performance attested to his resolve to prioritize quality over quantity in 2024, following a challenging year in 2023 where he faced significant losses amounting to over $2 million in poker tournaments.

The climax of Negreanu’s journey in the PGT Mixed Game series unfolded in Event #8: $10,200 Big Bet Mix, attracting a field of 37 seasoned contenders, including renowned mixed game specialists like Chad Eveslage, Adam Friedman, Benny Glaser, and Jason Mercier. Despite initially holding a chip lead at the final table, Negreanu ultimately bowed out in third place, paving the way for a captivating heads-up duel between Dan Shak and Jeremy Ausmus, with Shak emerging victorious, claiming his first PGT title along with $133,200 in prize money.

In a separate showdown, the $25,300 10-Game Championship witnessed a compelling display of skill as 2019 Main Event finalist Alex Livingston seized victory, earning $324,465 and his inaugural PGT title. Livingston’s triumph overshadowed fellow competitor Dylan Weisman, who settled for second place, falling short of securing his second PGT title of the year.

Throughout the tournament, Livingston maintained a dominant position, leading the chip count from the outset and navigating through a challenging final table lineup that included Dan Zack and John Racener, both previous trophy winners in the series.

As the curtains fell on the PGT Mixed Games series, attention now turns to the forthcoming PGT PLO Series set to commence on March 20 and continue through March 29, promising more exhilarating action and riveting moments within the PokerGO Studio.
