Wynn Las Vegas Named Best Las Vegas Casino by Travel + Leisure Once Again

Wynn and Encore Las Vegas

For the fifth year in a row, Wynn Resorts has taken the top two spots in prestigious Travel + Leisure magazine’s list of the 10 Best Las Vegas Casinos.

Wynn Las Vegas came in at number one in the recently published 2024 list. Wynn Resorts’ adjacent venue, Encore Las Vegas, came in second place.

The dominant Las Vegas Strip operator, MGM Resorts International, came in third place via its Cosmopolitan venue. It also featured with the Bellagio at number four and Aria at number nine.

The two newest large Las Vegas casino resorts, Durango Casino & Resort and Fontainebleau Las Vegas, both made the list. They came in fifth and eighth place, respectively.

“From high-limit salons to its variety of 1,800-plus slot machines, this casino has so much to offer players,” said FORA travel agency’s Celine Mahdavi, speaking about Wynn Las Vegas to Travel + Leisure.

“Guests can enjoy a state-of-the-art race and sportsbook, as well as poolside gaming.”

Wynn Number One

The yearly Travel + Leisure awards polls the veteran publications hundreds of thousands of monthly readers, as well as consulting tourism and luxury travel experts and locals in each destination.

In 2024, Wynn Resorts took the top two places for the fifth year in a row.

Wynn Las Vegas’ cool blue towers hold some 110,000 square feet of gaming space.

It has high limit gaming rooms for those with a bankroll of $100,0000, as well as 1,800-plus slot machines, and dozens of tables for those less well-heeled. It also has 2,700 luxury rooms, many of which are favored by the rich and famous. That recently included Justin Timberlake, Jessica Biel, and Adele.

Encore Las Vegas is the partner to Wynn Las Vegas and adjacent to it on Las Vegas Boulevard.

It came second on the list this year. It boasts a 70,000-square-foot casino floor, with 2,000 rooms and suites in its impressive tower.

Highlights include the Sky Casino high rollers room on the top floor of the tower for sweeping Sin City views while you gamble. Or the Tower Suites, which are among the most expensive in the whole city. But they do come with a dedicated concierge, your own private entrance, a private pool, and $50 free breakfast credit every day.

Wynn took the top spots again in 2024, despite increased competition from the two newest entries on the list.

Not a single new casino resort opened in Las Vegas for three years, and then two came along at once. In late 2023, Station Casinos’ Durango Casino Resort opened for the locals’ market, shortly followed by the decade-long-delayed Fontainebleau Las Vegas.

Both properties made this prestigious top 10 list, but neither could dethrone the two Wynn Properties.

That’s even with Fontainebleau being accused of illegally poaching several senior Wynn employees during its development. That’s an accusation that is soon to be played out in court.

MGM Dominates

Outside of Wynn and the new arrivals, MGM was once again the most-represented operator in the top 10.

It has three casinos on the list. Cosmopolitan took third spot, followed by Bellagio and its iconic fountains (the most Instagrammed spot in the world). The Aria ranked ninth.

The second-biggest operator in Las Vegas, Caesars Entertainment, had two properties on the list (sort of).

Through its real estate subsidiary, VICI Properties, Caesars owns The Venetian, which came in sixth place. It is operated by New York-based investment firm Apollo Global Management, which pays VICI monthly rent.

Caesars Entertainments’ flagship Caesars Palace venue just scraped the list in 10th place.

Travel + Leisure has been running since 1937, and has been publishing its yearly awards for decades.
