This weekend, two U.S. tribal casinos handed out slightly more than a million dollars across two jackpots from two low- stakes bets.
On Saturday, a man at the Four Winds Casino in New Buffalo, Michigan, (pictured) hit a $536,614 slot jackpot from a $5 spin.
Then, on Monday the 20th, in the early hours of the morning, a visitor at the Mohegan Sun in Connecticut hit a cool $483,622 progressive jackpot. Their wager? $5 on a blackjack side bet.
“Four Winds Casinos is very excited for all our guests that have recently won significant and life-changing jackpots at one of our four casino locations,” said company COO Mary Smith in a press release.
Four Winds Winners
The $536K jackpot at the Four Winds New Buffalo was won by a patron visiting the Michigan casino from Schaumburg, Illinois. They placed a $5 bet down on a Dollar Storm Wild Ninja slot, and promptly won the top progressive jackpot.
The winner chose to remain anonymous and gave no statement. The Dollar Storm Wild Ninja slot is made by popular Australian slots developer Aristocrat.
Additionally, the operator also saw another low-stakes bet turn into a huge jackpot payout at another of its casinos in recent weeks.
On April 8, one player at Four Winds North Bend in Indiana turned a stake of just $0.88 into a $177,894 jackpot prize. They won while playing a Double Blessings slot machine
Mohegan Monday
Then, on Monday morning, 850 miles away from Four Winds New Buffalo, a player saw a similar low-stakes big win at the Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Connecticut.
The gambler, Maged K. of New York, won the $486K Super 4 Progressive Jackpot offered at the Mohegan Sun. It came from a $5 side bet while playing blackjack.
The winning combo was a double blackjack from the dealer, with both hands made from two of the same suit. Which would have normally resulted in a simple push, if not for the $5 side bet.
Mohegan Sun is one of the biggest tribal casino operations in the U.S. It has more than 7,000 slot machines, 300 table games, and 300,000 square feet of gaming space.
