Miami Dolphins: Betting on the 2024 Season

Fresh off being named No. 1 on the NFL’s Top 100 Players list, Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill has a reworked contract. In an off-season that saw Justin Jefferson, Amon-Ra St. Brown, A.J. Brown, and teammate Jaylen Waddle all get paid, Hill will now receive $106.5 million in guaranteed money over the next four years. That puts him just behind the $110 million in guarantees that the Minnesota Vikings gave to Jefferson last month.

It is the most guaranteed money added to a contract without adding new years in NFL history.

Miami Postseason Odds

Hill is no stranger to postseason success, having won Super Bowl LIV with the Kansas City Chiefs. But since he came to Miami two years ago, the Dolphins have yet to win a playoff game. They lost in the Wild Card round at Buffalo two years ago, and they lost to the Chiefs in Kansas City in the Wild Card round last year.

The Dolphins are expected to make the playoffs again this season, paying -155 to be at least a wild card team. The AFC East is expected to be one of the most competitive divisions in football, with the New York Jets co-favorites with the Buffalo Bills. A bet on either of those teams pays +180, while the Dolphins are close behind at +200.

A Miami AFC Championship win pays +1100, and if they win Super Bowl LIX, your payout would be +2200.

The Dolphins currently have the longest postseason win-drought in the NFL, with their last playoff win coming after the 2000 season. Making the playoffs in 2024, but losing in the Wild Card Round, pays +225.

Offensive Award Odds

Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa got a new contract in July, and he is Miami’s best shot at having an NFL MVP for the first time since Dan Marino in 1984. Tua is paying +2500 to be the MVP, which has him just behind Jared Goff and Justin Herbert. Tyreek Hill is paying +7500 to be the league’s MVP.

Hill is a much better candidate to be the Offensive Player of the Year, and at +700, he has the shortest odds of anyone on the board. Last year’s winner, Christian McCaffrey, is +750. Tua is +7500 to win OPOY, and Waddle has listed odds of +12000.

There are also a series of special bets that feature Hill, including +600 to lead the NFL in receiving yards. That makes him the favorite. He’s tied with CeeDee Lamb of the Dallas Cowboys for most receiving touchdowns, paying +900.

Hill’s over/under on receiving yards is 1,375.5, and his over/under on receiving touchdowns is 9.5.

Miami selected Tennessee running back Jaylen Wright in the fourth round, and he is paying +7500 to be Offensive Rookie of the Year.

Defensive Award Odds

Miami used its first pick in the 2024 Draft, and 21st pick overall, on Penn State edge rusher Chop Robinson. He is paying +1400 to win Defensive Rookie of the Year, which ranks him seventh on the board.

When it comes to winning Defensive Player of the Year, an award the Dolphins last claimed in 2006 by Hall of Famer Jason Taylor, Miami’s best shot this year is with cornerback Jalen Ramsey. He is paying +6000, which has him tied with Jets cornerback Sauce Gardner.

Pass rusher Bradley Chubb, who had 11.0 sacks in 2023, is paying +7500. Defensive tackle Calais Campbell is a longshot at +20000, the same odds you can get on new safety Jordan Poyer.

Head coach Mike McDaniel is +2500 to win Coach of the Year, which has him tied for 17th with Mike Tomlin and Jerod Mayo.
