The newest mega casino resort on the Las Vegas Strip, Fontainebleau Las Vegas, has added several new gambling options to its unique poolside gaming area.
Not many Sin City casino resorts have chosen to fully combine their poolside bar experiences with gambling in this way. Some have put in bartop slots and virtual table games, but only Fontainebleau has live table games with dealers at its poolside bars.
The Oasis Pool Deck area is itself a newer addition to the Fontainebleau. The $3.7 billion mega casino resort that took 18 years to build opened in December 2023. It wasn’t until March of this year that it opened the pool deck.
This week, the casino opened an additional blackjack table and a craps table in the 2,300-square-foot poolside gaming area.
“The Oasis Pool Deck has become a signature amenity at Fontainebleau Las Vegas, and poolside gaming furthers our commitment to world-class luxury experiences,” said a statement from Michelle Reda, Fontainebleau’s chief casino officer.
“Based on guest feedback, we have recently made the decision to add more tables to the area, offering our guests even more excitement and a unique way to enjoy their time at our pool.”
The Gambling
The six-acre Oasis Pool Deck features seven different pools, four bars, two restaurants, and a day club area. Plus, now a gambling bar.
One area has a poolside lawn with vintage French-inspired lawn games like croquet and bowls. The Grand Pool is three connected pools around a large central bar called Bleu Isle.
The general area is only open to Fontainebleau Las Vegas guests, except for the gambling bar. That will be open to guests at all hours, but only to the public from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday to Sunday.
Outside of the poolside gambling, Fontainebleau Las Vegas has 150,000 square feet of indoor gambling space. That packs in 1,300 slot machines and 150 table games on the main floor, and more games in the high limit and private rooms. Plus, there is sports betting at The Tavern venue.
The Fontainebleau is the tallest occupiable building in Nevada, coming in at 67 stories above the Las Vegas Strip. It has 3,644 hotel rooms alongside all the gambling and resort amenities.
The operation is reportedly financially solid, but hasn’t set the Las Vegas world on fire. It has also had legal battles with Wynn Resorts over employee poaching, and has seen a high turnover of executives.
