$1.5M Slots Win at Las Vegas Airport, Plus Other Jackpots Roundup

October saw several notable jackpots hit across Las Vegas and Nevada casinos. Which is only right, seeing as they continue to bring in $1 billion a month in overall gambling revenues.

Right at the end of the month, one player celebrated Halloween in Sin City with a $1.5 million slot win at Harry Reid International Airport. Continuing the table game payout streak from our last jackpot roundup, players in Las Vegas hit big over the month, including a $600K poker jackpot at Caesars Palace and a $300K Pai Gow Poker win.

Outside of Las Vegas, Caesars Entertainment recently opened its Caesars New Orleans venue – and it capped it off in style with a $317K poker jackpot for one lucky visitor.

Nevada’s casinos weren’t the only ones handing out a few big winners over the month. The Powerball Lottery sold a $2.3 million winning ticket at a gas station in the small town of Primm, just south of Las Vegas.

Las Vegas Wins

The biggest gambling win of the month was saved for the end. On October 31, a man who chose to remain anonymous was passing through Las Vegas’ Harry Reid International Airport when he decided to sit down at a slot machine.

He sat down and put $100 on a Wheel of Fortune Gold Spin Triple Red Hot 7s game, playing $7 a spin. Within minutes he hit a $1,571,616.52 jackpot on the machine, making for a shocking Halloween, indeed.

The second-biggest win of the month was at Caesars Palace casino on October 14. Eric H. Sheridan was visiting from Montana to watch the Pittsburgh Steelers play the Raiders. He decided to play a few hands of poker at the famous Las Vegas Strip venue.

And he won big. After playing for around an hour, the Caesars Palace regular hit a Royal Flush with a side bet active for a $600,022 payout. Sheridan joked with casino staff after his win. He planned on “staying retired,” he said.

At another Caesars property on October 22, a lucky player hit a $312,900 jackpot on a Pai Gow Poker table at Paris Las Vegas.

Michael M., visiting Las Vegas from Vancouver, Washington, said the first thing he was going to do was call his wife. He also said he would be upping his golf game with some new clubs when he got home.
